Animal Flow
Ground‑Based Movement for Strength, Mobility, and Confidence
Animal Flow is a ground‑based movement system that builds mobility, strength, coordination, and body control through fun, accessible patterns inspired by quadrupedal movement. Whether you’re a beginner, a seasoned mover, or someone returning to fitness, Animal Flow offers a unique way to reconnect with your body and move with confidence.
As a Certified Animal Flow Instructor, I teach beginner‑friendly classes and private sessions here in the Port Moody / Tri‑Cities area, helping people develop strength, mobility, and skill through structured progressions and supportive coaching.
What Is Animal Flow?
Animal Flow is a structured movement practice built around six components:
-
Wrist Mobilizations — preparing the hands and wrists for ground‑based training
-
Activations — engaging the body and building awareness
-
Form Specific Stretches — mobility work tied directly to movement patterns
-
Traveling Forms — Ape, Beast, and Crab locomotion
-
Switches & Transitions — dynamic movements that build coordination and flow
-
Flows — linking movements together into smooth, continuous sequences
These elements combine to create a practice that is both physically challenging and mentally engaging, suitable for all fitness levels.

My Background as an Animal Flow Instructor
I started practicing Animal Flow in late 2023 after trying a class and realizing instantly that it exactly the kind of bodyweight challenge I enjoy. What began as a casual addition to my warm‑ups and cooldowns quickly became a consistent practice that improved my strength, balance, mobility, and overall athleticism. Seeing how much it helped, inspired me to start teaching it.
Highlights of my Animal Flow journey:
-
Fell in love with the mobility, creativity, and coordination
-
Added AF to warm‑ups and cooldowns
-
Eventually began building my own flows
-
Noticed improvements in wrist strength, hip and shoulder mobility, balance, and athleticism
-
Loved seeing clients gain smooth, confident movement
